A young Tanzanian fisherman shows a friend a catfish he caught off the shore of Segunda, a fishing village on Lake Tanganika. Taken during an upcoming @ナショナルジオグラフィック story on climate change, this image captures a positive end result of a more often less rewarding, labor intensive job. Men stay out all night, taking turns looking for fish under LED lanterns and sleeping in the bottom of their hand carved wooden boats. When raising their nets at dawn, they often find just a few hundred of the finger-sized silver Dagaa fish, the main protein staple of isolated villages located along the shore, to bring home to their villages.
