Two year old Shaba, who was rescued after her mother was killed in human wildlife conflict, comforts and teaches the younger elephant calves like Baawa at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e). Reteti’s goal is to rehabilitate and re-wild these elephants. Reteti and nearby Sarara Camp (@sararacamp) are part of the Samburu-owned Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy. Grassroots conservation efforts like these are growing new economies and effectively conserving natural resources.
