The actor @マーク・ラファロ recently sent “a prayer out into the universe.” He was asking to experience something particular in 2017: “All I wanted to do was get on a stage with a group of people I trust and love and do a great play,” the 49-year-old actor told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ recently. “No bells and whistles. No giant concepts. No reinventions.” The universe did its thing. The very next day, @マーク・ラファロ was offered the leading part in Arthur Miller’s “The Price.” The play, which opens March 16, explores familial obligation and money in 1968 New York City. It’s full of questions of honesty and corruption, class struggles and expectations, even access to a decent education. “The play talks about not being honest about the past,” said @マーク・ラファロ, who has crammed an enormous amount of social activism into his busy career. “But it’s just like now: Who is telling the truth? Which version do you believe?” @damonwinter photographed #MarkRuffalo while on #nytassignment. Visit the link in our profile to read the full interview.
