As part of the current Robert Rauschenberg exhibition at Tate Modern, Trisha Brown Dance Company will be performing its landmark work "Set and Reset" (1983) in the Tanks on 27-28 January. Trisha Brown was making work as part of the downtown New York dance scene at a time when the American avant-garde in dance, art and music were becoming more closely bound together. Together with Rauschenberg and other creators such as Merce Cunningham (choreographer) and John Cage (composer), she helped to forge a cross-disciplinary and highly collaborative method of creation, the influence of which is still strongly felt both in and outside of the dance world.
