It's a crazy thought that in just a few weeks this guy and I are going to be parents. When we met I was 21, he was 23. I'd spent the past three years wandering the globe with no clue what the future had in store. He was managing a surf shop, worrying only about how much beach tennis he could play in a week and when the next swell would come in. We moved in together on day one. After only knowing each other for four weeks we went to Sweden to meet my family. A month later we got a dog. Three years in we got engaged, married a year after that. We've bought a house, started businesses, traveled the world, gone into debt and found the deepest of love together. We've been through death and pain and loss and inexplicable bliss and joy and adventure and carried each other through every high and low imaginable. He is my rock. My anchor. He puts a smile on my face every single day. The seven years I've spent with this man have been the best years of my life and in just a few weeks, we are bringing a baby into the world. Part him, part me. All her. So much is going to change and I'm so excited and terrified and overjoyed all at the same time. People tell me I'll never sleep again, nothing will be the same, I have to prepare, rest more, be ready. Whenever I feel overwhelmed (which is often) I look at Dennis and I know... Everything is fine. More than fine.
I'm just the luckiest girl.
