We are thrilled to confirm that Maria Balshaw will be the new director of Tate!

Balshaw will be Tate’s ninth director and the first woman to hold the role. She is currently Director of the Whitworth (University of Manchester) and Manchester City Galleries, and Director of Culture for Manchester City Council. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
