When asked what the biggest difference is between boys and girls, she says: “We won’t get education in school, but boys will be educated, and therefore they can travel everywhere, but girls can’t.” Alfia is one of the many nine year olds I had the privilege of photographing and interviewing for the National Geographic January 2017 special issue #GenderRevolution.
