As a child, #BeverlyBuchanan collected stones, finding them rich in intrigue and meaning. Later she began to call the small rocks she found her art. Gathering them from one site and placing them elsewhere, these stone piles served a “functional” purpose. In her own words, “If I see some rubble, my thought is, ‘Let’s see, now where in Georgia could that go?’ I immediately claim it. Psychologically it’s mine.” #ruinsandrituals
