Photo by @DavidDoubilet Sunset casts a golden glow across a shallow grove of elkhorn coral in the Gardens of the Queen National Park, Cuba. Elkhorn coral was once the most abundant coral in the Caribbean but 90%+ of this now endangered species has been lost to disease, storm damage and bleaching. Cuba's Jardines de la Reina marine sanctuary is a window into the Caribbean that was, a place where these endangered corals flourish and reef fish and shark populations are stable.
