Two male polar bears are sparring along the shoreline of Hudson Bay in late fall, while they’re waiting for the ice to become thick enough to support them as they venture into the bay to hunt for seals. Rapidly changing ice conditions in the Arctic are forcing polar bears to stay on land for longer periods each year, leaving them hungry when they should be able to fatten up for the winter.
