Photo by @argonautphoto of participants in the Traditional Mas in #Trinidad. The most spectacular costumes in #Carnival are perhaps those of the "Fancy Indians." The origins of this group are said to be the native people who came to Trinidad from Venezuela and also the Warrahoon tribes that brought beads and feathers to barter until the 1920s. Growing into a broader fascination with colors and costumes the tradition has now extrapolated to include North American Native Pow Wow regalia and incorporates made up languages and ever more elaborate head dresses and costumes each year.
