Happy birthday to architect Renzo Piano, born in Italy on this day in 1937! LACMA campus has Piano to thank for its signature “Renzo Red” elements on both BCAM and the Resnick Pavilion. BCAM houses six generous galleries over three levels—the third-floor gallery has a glazed, louvered roof system, flooded with natural light, while the middle level has no windows and is dedicated to special and temporary exhibitions. The Resnick Pavilion dramatically expands the museum's exhibition space and unifies the western half of the museum's twenty-acre campus.
