ユーゲで誠光社・堀部夫妻に鰻ご馳走になっちゃった土用の丑の翌日。みたらし祭の最終日。まだ静かな早朝、冷たい水に足をつけ無病息災を祈りました。

京都の夏は水の夏。京都の1年は自然の神さまたちと季節の行事を通して過ぎてゆきます。そんな 京都に"帰ってきて"、日本人の自分を意識します。

Mitarashi Festival :
18 days before the beginning of autumn in old calendar, people in Kyoto go to 1200 yrs old Shimogamo Shrine ( UNESCO World Heritage ) for a ritual foot bathing. Tradition has it that if you bathe your feet in the cool waters of the sacred stream running through the shrine, you can avoid disease and disasters everyday.
