It's official. Amazon boss Jeff Bezos just become the world's 3rd-richest person, knocking Warren Buffett to fourth place. Bezos, 52, has a net worth of $65.3 billion, compared with Buffett's $64.9 billion. Jeff owns close to 18% of Amazon, a stock that has risen by roughly 50% since early February. So who else snags a medal on our billionaire podium? Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates gets gold; he is still the world's richest person, at $77.7 billion. Spain's Amancio Ortega, who founded Inditex SA, is second at $72.7 billion. And an honorable mention goes out to Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, who with $54 billion is "only" in 5th place, but he's also just 32-years-old.
