I’m fortunate to be working on a forthcoming, thematic @ナショナルジオグラフィック story on a subject about which I care very deeply. Regardless of purpose, however, being so consistently on the move can occasionally leave me feeling detached and uncertain about where I belong. As photographers, we spend so much time immersed in the lives of others that we can, occasionally, lose sight of our own. This weekend, during a brief pause in my work schedule, I attended the wedding of two, dear friends who exchanged their vows in the foothills of #Virginia’s breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a beautiful, emotional wedding where—surrounded by old friends—I regained a sense of connection and place. It left me feeling restored and excited for the months ahead.
