@FransLanting I share this image in memory of Juma, the jaguar who was just killed in Brazil after she escaped from her handlers at an Olympic torch ceremony in Manaus. I photographed this wild jaguar as it hunted caiman in Brazil's Pantanal, the world’s largest tropical wetland. Jaguars are the largest cat of the Americas and in every Meso and South American Indian culture--whether Mayan, Incan, or Amazonian—they served as powerful symbols and spirits.
