#Repost @mississippivegan A spread from my market haul today with just a bit of hand foraging: french breakfast radishes, the last ramps I believe, thick and thin asparagus, red stemmed malabar spinach, and fiddle head ferns. The other bright green species displayed here is pineapple weed, also known as wild chamomile, which I happily spotted growing right outside of my apartment! Because this was not grown in the best conditions being so close to the street, I won’t be using it for anything culinary. But it can certainly sit in a vase and make me happy. Pinching the tips releases an aroma that’s a cross between pineapple and chamomile. Lovely, no? That being said, I wanted to let you all know that I will be taking over the @thefeedfeed snapchat tomorrow. I will be giving you a glimpse into my foraging world, and then back to my kitchen to whip up some wild pesto. I’m looking for particular edible species, but who knows what I’ll find.
