Albert #Einstein was born on this day in 1879. Travel back nine months earlier and enjoy "Mr. and Mrs. Einstein Shortly after the Conception of Their Son, the Genius Albert," a small unfired clay sculpture featured in the series "Suddenly This Overview" by Peter Fischli and David Weiss. In "Suddenly This Overview," the Swiss artist duo attempted to gather all the world’s knowledge in one place through narrative vignettes. Comprising hundreds of small sculptures made of unfired clay, this “subjective encyclopedia” covers everything from the ordinary to the monumental. Often #FischliWeiss also chose to portray tangential and less-than-heroic moments; these minor events become elevated, or, through a shift in the punchline, are seen in a new way or even understood for the first time.
