Hi, I'm Sage, Youth Programs Coordinator at @国立アメリカ歴史博物館. I work with 20 amazing teens in our Youth Civic Engagement Program. Today I’ll be sharing the parts of the museum that are really popular with our teens.
I’m in #PlacesOfInvention, in the exhibition’s “Bronx” section. It focuses on the invention of Hip Hop culture by youth innovators in 1970’s Bronx, NY and features a turntable used by DJ Grandmaster Flash. I’m touching a demo version where visitors can learn to scratch a record.
Teens in my program are designing an educational activity exploring DJing, copyright, and sampling. You can try it out at #MuseumDayLive this Saturday, where we'll highlight the role of women in Hip Hop. - Sage
