Photo by @michaelchristopherbrown. An Mbuti Pygmy family waits out a rainstorm in the Ituri Rainforest, located in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Mbuti are one of several African Pygmy tribes and are among the first inhabitants of Africa. Their small, circular and temporary huts are constructed with wooden poles and leaves, which help shield the Mbuti from the elements.
