Photo by @michaelmelford Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. In celebration of the centennial of out National Park System. Lake Clark was proclaimed a national monument by President Jimmy Carter using the Antiquities Act on December 1, 1978, the brilliant act that allows the president to declare any place protected with just a stroke of the pen. Established as a national park in 1980, there are no roads at all in the park, and such a float plane is your best bet. Worth the trip to Alaska all by it’s self! I was with a pilot for a couple of days photographing the amazing landscapes of the park, and this morning the pilot slept in. I was a little upset not to be up in the air as the light started to come on, but then this gift was given. #52weeksofnationalparks @thephotosociety @natgeocreative #nationalpark #lakeclark #alaska #sunrise
