Resolving to keep the house clean this year? This 1927 Hoover vacuum is currently on view in #ObjectProject. H. W. Hoover first pitched his "electric suction sweepers" to consumers in 1908, with the promise that these new devices would make housework a breeze.
But more vacuuming led to higher standards of cleanliness—which led to more vacuuming! Does that count as our "get more exercise" resolution, too?
