Indian, Atlantic, Pacific, Southern and Arctic. Five oceans, all interconnected. Seventy one percent of the earth's surface: saline. Seven continents, built of rock, rising up only to be brought down in a four and a half billion year old never-ending cycle. Clouds form from heat, extracting the salt, transforming it to snow, ice, rain, hail and vapor. Rivers cascading down, providing sustenance to plants and animals. And water? Ever so soft and precious. Eroding the mountains.

It's all the same stuff this planet started out with. It's just another reincarnation of the same old carbon.
Continents, drifting on plates - crashing and subducting, creating mountains. Humans here, for a nano flash. All self important : "masters of the universe", creating deities in our own image and designing the next best thing. Manifest destiny. Really? Let's be mindful of our place in the cosmos.
We ply the oceans and scale the peaks. Thinking we are something special. Yet at the end - gravity wins. It's the way of the water.

We will never decipher the unknown. That's why we venture in the unknown. It is not easy. Why should it be? Life is suffering.

Should we figure out the why? The elusive meaning of life? If we do - the allure is lost. Keep the mystery alive.
