Now that I'm living back in California, I find myself thinking quite a lot about my last winter in Yellowstone National Park, where days would constantly drop below 0 degrees fahrenheit. This particular day the temperature measured -30 degrees, which makes even the hardiest beasts look cold. Looking at this large 2,000 pound bison, standing perfectly still as icicles clung to this face and fur was like looking at a scene from the last ice age. He was standing right above a spewing geyser, so hopefully the heat from steaming water kept him slightly warmer! #bison #buffalo #yellowstone #wildlife #wyoming #winter #animals
