Modern meets medieval. Cafe-side, just about dawn somewhere in central Europe. A lot colder here at the foot of the Alps than in New York. One of the things you might be wondering about is visibility; this Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT has no lume on the hands. As it turns out it doesn't really need it. I've traveled pretty extensively with Grand Seikos and under pretty much any lighting conditions, the watch is very legible, thanks to the mirror-bright and very sharp level of polishing of the hands. Houses in the background date to the mid-Renaissance, like watchmaking itself; it's the fusion of high tech and very traditional finishing and design that give Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches their unique character.
