Waking up in Europe. Grand Seiko: very hard to shoot but a ton of fun to wear. Brilliantly polished applied dial markers and hands make read-off of the time a snap. One among many of the subtle but beautiful design touches in this particular model is the openworked tip of the home time hand; the blued steel can look anything from sky-blue to almost black depending on the lighting conditions and it contrasts nicely with the palette of whites, greys, and blacks used for the rest of the dial. The home time hand is read off against the 24 hour scale on the rehaut (inner bezel) and makes one full revolution per day.
