We just added objects from #BreakingBad to our entertainment history collection, including this Tyvek lab suit and gas mask worn by Bryan Cranston. The objects will NOT be on display right away, but stay tuned for news of our culture exhibition.
Television can be a powerful medium for driving our understanding of history, place, and the complex issues we tackle as a society. Recently, the Smithsonian's Secretary Skorton was asked what current pop culture shows he thought would be on display at the Smithsonian. His response: "I think this is something the public should decide—so I'll throw this one out to you all. What do you think?" So let us know: What television-related objects do YOU think belong in the Smithsonian? (And just to reiterate: The "Breaking Bad" objects will NOT be on display right away. We'll let you know when you can see them.) #Magnets #HeisenbergHat #EntertainmentHistory #Chemistry #BryanCranston
