#MartinRicoyOrtega was one of #FranciscoOller's best-known Spanish contemporaries. The two artists most likely met in 1882 during Oller’s second stay in Madrid. Rico y Ortega then spent considerable time in Venice, and his pictures of the shimmering waters of the canals made him famous with collectors on both sides of the Atlantic.
