I grew up in Louisiana and covered the story for Nat Geo magazine, and I was so dismayed to see the marshes in the Bay Jimmy area of Plaquemines Parish in Southeastern Louisiana (which sustained the heaviest oil impact) looking like this months later-miles of marsh denuded of grass that had been killed by oil.
