Photo by @jtkerby | Gelada monkeys pause in their daily meander through the alpine grassland they call home in #Ethiopia. While the adult monkeys may take this opportunity to rest or groom, juveniles continually bounce between family groups biting, screaming, and playing. No breaks here! This frantic and seemingly unending play teaches juveniles how to behave later in life when social interactions have much higher stakes... In the coming weeks I will be posting photos from the central Ethiopian highlands while #onassignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック along with fellow assignment photographer @tbfrost.
