Pierre Part, Louisiana in March 2015. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the BP oil spill in 2010, @frankrelle took to the rivers and swamps of #Louisiana to document the state’s long road to recovery. To shoot photos like this one, he works at night from a flat boat rigged with lights, a generator and tripods that he can stick into the water to hold his camera steady. “There is something about long-exposure night photography as a technique,” @frankrelle told the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ #lensblog. “It’s a more complicated and layered technique that lets in elements.” This #nytweekender, we’ll be sharing more of @frankrelle’s nocturnal photos from “Until the Water.”
