This ancient Egyptian cat coffin recently came to the #bkmconservation lab in preparation for the #divinefelines traveling exhibition. After a thorough cleaning, the once grimy surface revealed a light spotted body (which inspired the cat's nickname "Freckles" among the conservators) and an incredible gold-leaf-covered head.
