The country of Burundi has gone to the polls today to elect its president. The incumbent, President Pierre Nkurunziza, is widely expected to win a third consecutive term despite international condemnation after he ignored the country’s constitutional limit of two terms. Nkurunziza argued that since he didn’t serve his two terms consecutively, the rule shouldn’t apply.
