A: We generally see a higher level of engagement on photos than videos, even ones than we thought would be really well received before posting. That being said, the video capabilities of the iPhone 6 – particularly the time-lapse and slo-mo functions – make for some really cool swimming content, so we’ll continue to post more and more during our event coverage. Traditionally, those kinds of videos do relatively well. As an organization, we’re placing more and more of an emphasis on the creation of video content, so we expect our usage of video on Instagram and other social networks to rise. ________________________________________Q: What motivated your choice to join Iconosquare? A: Iconosquare is a nice service to keep tabs on your Instagram posts. It’s great to get that email at the end of the day to dig a little deeper into your account and see what’s working well for our organization. ________________________________________Q: How do you measure your brand influence on Instagram? A: We aim to be a part of the conversation within our key membership demographic of age-group swimmers. If that group is liking and commenting on our content, then we feel like we’re doing a good job. We certainly like to see our follower total rise, but it’s a high level of engagement we strive for. We keep tabs on those metrics, and the great thing about Instagram is you can usually tell right away if a post is resonating with your audience.
