We use Iconosquare’s data to help us make more informed content decisions. ________________________________________Q: On your last 100 media posted, none of them are videos. Why? Is it more complicated to tell a story through a video rather than a picture? A: In the last 100 posts, we did have one video on Feb. 9 and another today. But to that point, while we always consider the video option, short videos are very hard to do well. Our analytics also show that the videos don’t always perform as well as a static image. We want to have purposeful content and give followers what they want to see: beautiful and interesting images. In the future, we will have more of a focus on micro videos, but not until we are able to produce the kind of quality pieces we want for our followers. ________________________________________Q: Work aside, what are your 3 accounts you recommend following? A: Every day, often several times a day, @Natgeo posts beautifully constructed photos from exotic locations, tied to interesting stories. It’s nice to learn through their lenses. Two other more local accounts with top photography are @IgersBoston and@IgBoston.
