While down by the frozen river the other day, I noticed a family of 5 river otters eating near the bank. I headed closer and then got laid down on the ice to make myself look smaller. They were about 80 feet away when they noticed me as they dove under the frozen ice. Just a few moments later, they popped up in a breathing hole no more than 15 feet away! For 5 minutes, they kept bobbing up and down and crawling on top of each other to get a better look at me. It was hysterical to watch them scramble around to fulfill their curiosity. #riverotters #otters #jacksonhole #grandtetons #yellowstone #wyoming
