In celebration of World Wildlife Day, bringing awareness to conservation efforts around the world, I recall one of my most memorable wildlife sightings. We first saw this young leopard sitting in the middle of the road. She sauntered off into the thick brush and we were on our way to see if she would come out on the other side when we heard the sound of a duiker in distress. Our driver took a sharp turn and sped off into the bush. After many bumps and turns we found her with the duiker. We stayed with her for about an hour, until she stashed her kill and took a nap. It was then that I noticed that my backup camera (and 70-200 lens) fell off the vehicle during the search. I've seen trackers make some unbelievable finds on safari, but locating that camera in the middle of the thick forest was quite impressive. Taken near Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge in South Africa.
