German artist #RudolfBauer was born 125 years ago today. His work was integral to the formation of the Guggenheim collection. In a nod to artist such as Vasily #Kandinsky, his often musically titled works such as "Invention (Composition 31)" 1933 expressed a lyrical abstraction in an effort to unite painting and music, thus encouraging a spiritual renewal in all areas of art with works of spontaneous invention or impressions of internal and spiritual nature rather than observations of the external material world. ??
