Former Guggenheim Museum director James Johnson Sweeney (who served 1952-1960) collaborated with animator John Hubley to develop this short, animated art film in the mid-1950s, now digitized in the Guggenheim Archives. “The Adventures of *” tells the story of a rambunctious toddler (in the form of an asterisk) who bothers his serious father with his playful nature and curiosity.
