Driving back into Jackson from the park, I noticed over 2,000 elk standing on the other side of the road. I was amazed to see this massive herd along the ridge line. There were so many, it was hard to see the ground sometimes. The elk migrate down to the National Elk Refuge every winter where they stay on the edge of town for about 5 months.
