Decaying Palms, Botany Bay Plantation, ACE Basin

This small undeveloped sea island hosts nesting Loggerhead Sea Turtles along with Least Terns. The ACE Basin is a fragile ecosystem nestled and surrounded by development and just 30 miles from Charleston, South Carolina. It remains one the largest undeveloped estuaries, formed by the confluence of the rivers Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto and preserved by the confluence of a community.
