Photo by @davidalanharvey. A full moon rises on South Korea's Jeju Island at Haesindang, the temple and sacred rock of Yongwang, the god of the deep sea. Haenyeo, the women free shellfish divers, and local fishermen come here to pray. This Haenyeo is the leader of her group of 40 women who have been working together since their teens. I am now commissioned by the Jeju Arts Council to photograph a 170 page b&w book on their lives and culture. I am now also preparing to dive with the women next week. I will cheat a bit and use scuba gear. These lovely women will forgive me I am sure. They have been so kind in allowing me into their lives. ‪#‎SouthKorea ‪#‎Haenyeo
