This week, I will be showcasing images of apex predators on my personal instagram feed @paulnicklen and marine predators will be shown at @sea_legacy. The relationship between humans and apex predators is an ancient one. Be it sharks, wolves, killer whales or grizzly bears, we as a species seem to have demonized these creatures from ancient times to present. As we begin to see past our deeply ingrained fear and understand these predators, like this large male orca, we realize that we can peacefully coexist with these animals. Not only that we can, but we must, as they hold together entire ecosystems with their presence.
