Photo by @davidalanharvey. Jeju Island, S Korea. I am shooting right now a black & white essay on the Haenyeo. These are the women free divers harvesting various shellfish along the rocky coast. This picture simply shows the WHERE...Next pictures coming will show the WHO..These women range in age from late fifties to early eighties. A dying breed. Like farming, the younger generation just isn't interested. So I will post here over the next two or three weeks a few pictures from this project. It will be hard to track as an essay here on NatGeo since everything is single imagery and interspersed with all kinds of work from NatGeo photographers all over the world all the time. It will be however all in one place on my own Instagram and ultimately a book and exhibition. #Haenyeo #South Korea
