From Mandalay to Myitkyina, it streams through tunnels of dense jungle, over rickety bridges, and is known to often derail. The 20 hour overnight ride was sleepless due to severely uneven tracks. Every ten minutes we found ourselves airborne, shaken like a high magnitude earthquake, with battle wounds to prove.
