And thus begins our journey into western Greenland, an incredible place full of icebergs, whales, and fascinating Greenlandic people. I took this image during a midnight-sun cruise on the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO world heritage site. About 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, the Icefjord is the sea mouth of Sermeq Kujalleq, one of the few glaciers through which the Greenland ice cap reaches the sea. This glacier is one of the fastest and most active glaciers in the world, and produces icebergs like this at an incredible rate. Taking a cruise among the massive city-size blocks of ice is an absolutely breathtaking experience. Photo by @magnumji
