With August 12 being World Elephant Day, a day to bring people together to help preserve and protect elephants, I think back to a few of the first #elephants we ever saw in the wild, this active pair in #Tanzania. Sadly, 96 of these magnificent creatures are killed every day in Africa. It has been said that elephants demonstrate empathy, self-awareness, and social intelligence.
