@paulnicklen on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. @betonavablank, a National Geographic Grantee and his wife, Susan Bird carefully observe “Naia,” a 12,000- to 13,000-year-old teenage girl whose remains were found in the Hoyo Negro cave on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Naia is the oldest, most complete, genetically intact human skeleton discovered in the New World. These accomplished divers along with Alejandro 'Alex' Alvarez and Franco Attolini made this discovery after exploring countless miles of underwater caves in Mexico.
