Months ago my friend (& gorg freakin supermodel) @danikabrysha randomly mailed me this book after we had a long talk about chasing our dreams. At the time this arrived at my doorstep, I was working a full time job, and wondering if I would ever have the guts to leave my day job.
Despite my success, I still couldn't imagine taking the plunge towards self employment.
After I read this book, and started thinking about my life and what I really wanted in life- I realized that I had overcome things much more difficult then this. Heck, I moved from Mississippi to the West Coast with a 1 1/2 yr old, $700, three suitcases and a pack and play. No job, car, or plan... Just a dream of making my dreams come true and giving my son a better life. Now, after 6 years of moving away, and 4 years of modeling I'm happy to say that next week I will officially be self employed. At 28, I will be my own boss. and it feels damn good. I'm not saying this to brag, but to motivate those of you out there that might be hesitant about taking that leap of faith. I'm a child of abuse, poverty, rape, etc- but I kept fighting and you can too. It's not easy, and the road is long, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
