Heather Roberts was named the Assistant Coach of the Year at the AVCA Coaches Honors Luncheon. Roberts recently finished her sixth season with nation's 19th-ranked @ColoradoSchoolofMines. "I was the media intern at @USA Volleyball under Paul Soriano for two straight summers in 2003 and 2004. It was an amazing experience ... being able to sit at practices at the Olympic Training Center and watch some of the greatest coaches in the world work. "A Mecca of volleyball knowledge. I grew up around the sport, but I loved writing. It was awesome that those two worlds converged. It really just pushed me to understand ... I want to be a coach one day."
